Psychotherapist (authorized for independent practice) or MSW Clinical Social Worker – Independent Contractor Position – Ontario and Manitoba.

We support children, youth, individuals, seniors/elders, couples, and families in creating positive changes in their lives. We offer evidence-based psychotherapy and counselling and are expanding to meet the increasing needs of our communities.
 

We are seeking Counsellors and/or Registered Psychotherapist (authorized for independent practice) or MSW Clinical Social Worker to provide clinical services to individuals (children, youth, adults, seniors/elders), couples, and families as well as critical incident stress debriefing. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced therapist who is passionate about helping others and has a strong knowledge of psychotherapy and/or counselling as well as critical incident support. We focus on delivering high-quality, evidence-based treatment, including CBT, DBT, Solution-Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, trauma-informed practices, etc. treatment goals/plans tailored to meet the client’s unique needs and journey. 

This position is as an independent contractor as we seek therapist who are able to provide at minimum 4 hours to 10 hours of clinical services a month or travel to remote communities for a 7 day rotation.  A therapist who has experience and comfortable providing in person and or virtual care is reliable, empathetic and self-directed. 


Qualifications: 

  • Registered Psychotherapist (authorized for independent practice) or Masters Degree in Clinical Social Work 
  • Psychology, Counselling and Mental Health Skills 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team 
  • Critical Incident Stress Debriefing 
  • Membership in good standing with the College of Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) or  Ontario Association of Social Workers/Social Services Worker (OCSWSSW), Manitoba College of Social Workers 
  • Holds a current and valid Mental Health Professional Liability Insurance 
  • A negative criminal record check/vulnerable sector 

Responsibilities: 

  • Provide psychotherapy/counselling to      children/youth/adults/seniors/elders/families/couples that present with a      range of concerns and challenges 
  • Able to travel to provide critical incident stress debriefing within Ontario      and be on scene within a short period of time 
  • Remote in community role has a 7 day in community expectation 
  • Maintain detailed client records in accordance with relevant privacy laws and      college standards 
  • Communicate with other professionals as required in providing client services 
  • Work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team

Psychologist / Psychological Associates – Psychological/Psycho-educational Assessments as an Indepen

Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Psychologist/Psychological Associate to conduct psychological /psycho-educational assessments remotely within various Indigenous communities across Ontario and Manitoba. The ideal candidate will have experience working in diverse and remote settings, with a strong commitment to culturally safe and ethical practices. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments for children, youth, and adults, including psychoeducational, gifted, autism and ADHD evaluations using standardized tools and clinical judgment. 
  • Engage with diverse populations across both Ontario and Manitoba, including remote Indigenous communities 
  • Employ trauma-informed, culturally safe, and ethical practices throughout assessment and reporting. 
  • Maintain clear and respectful communication with clients, families, and health providers. 
  • Ensure compliance with professional and organizational standards, including confidentiality and data security. 

Qualifications: 

  • Psychologists: Doctoral degree in School, Clinical or Counselling Psychology. Registration as a Psychologist with the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario 
  • Psychological Associates: Master's degree in School, Clinical or Counselling Psychology. Registration as a Psychological Associate with the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario. 
  • Ability to provide services in multiple locations. 
  • Demonstrated experience conducting psychological assessments in diverse, remote, or Indigenous communities. 
  • Training and expertise in trauma-informed, culturally safe, and ethically sound assessment practices. 
  • Knowledge of community-based care models and Indigenous mental health frameworks is essential. 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and rapport in cross-cultural contexts. 
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams. 
  • Willingness and ability to travel to remote locations as required.

What You Will Lead and Manage:

  1. Care Pathways & Intake Operations (Inquiry-to-Intake Owner)
    · Serve as the warm, professional first point of contact for new inquiries.
    · Manage the inquiry-to-intake pathway: next steps, scheduling coordination, follow-ups, and ensuring intakes move forward smoothly.
    · Maintain intake trackers and ensure accurate information flow between admin systems and the clinical team (within policy and consent).
  2. Provider Payments & Finance Operations
    · Calculate and process payments for independent contractor therapists accurately and on time.
    · Maintain contractor documentation and payment tracking.
    · Complete day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, including bank reconciliations and HST/GST tracking.
    · Keep financial records organized and audit-ready.
  3. Privacy, Compliance & Practice Systems
    · Protect client and agency information by following strict Canadian health privacy standards (PHIPA) and internal confidentiality practices.
    · Maintain organized operational records, templates, and trackers that support consistent, privacy-safe practice operations.
    · Learn and support practice management software workflows (e.g., Owl Practice) and help keep administrative processes clean and consistent.
  4. Business Operations
    · Maintain basic website updates (service info, staff/provider updates, contact pathways, and operational content changes).
    · Support marketing administration: coordinating content/assets, updating service descriptions, tracking inquiries/leads, and ensuring information stays current.

What Success Looks Like (First 60–90 Days)
· Intake pathway is organized, responsive, and consistently followed.
· Provider payments run on a predictable schedule with clean documentation.
· Reconciliations and tax tracking are up to date.
· Privacy-sensitive workflows are followed consistently.
· Website/service information stays current and inquiries are tracked.

Education & Experience:
· Required: Diploma/Certification in Office Administration, Business Administration, or related field social work such as SSW and DSW is an asset, medical office administration certificate.
· Preferred: 2+ years in a role that blends operations, finance administration, and client-facing coordination.
· Practical Knowledge: Solid understanding of General Ledger entries and Canadian payroll/tax basics.
· Asset: Experience in a medical, mental health, or privacy-regulated setting.

What You Bring:
· Operations mindset: You naturally create structure—checklists, trackers, templates—and follow through while applying a Trauma-Informed lens.
· Financial accuracy: Comfortable with reconciliations, payment calculations, and clean record-keeping.
· Software confidence: QuickBooks, Xero, or similar accounting software; strong Excel/Google Sheets; Monday.com, Outlook and Outlook Calendars, able to learn Owl Practice or similar systems.
· Discretion and integrity: You handle sensitive financial and personal information with care, honesty, and professionalism knowledge of PHIPA- PIPEDA
· Warm-professional communication: You can support clients empathetically while staying clear and firm on policy.
· Steady under pressure: You can prioritize across multiple lanes without dropping details.

MCRC- Mino Pimatisiwin Coach (Independent Contractor)

The MCRC - Mino Pimatisiwin Coach (MPC) – will provide confidential mental health and addictions counselling and support to individuals and families. This role involves delivering services through in-person visits and community outreach.Operating as an independent contractor, you will work from a holistic, trauma-informed perspective that is deeply sensitive to Indigenous (First Nations, Métis, and Inuit) traditions, cultures, and teachings. This entry-level position is designed for a practitioner who is passionate about supporting community members in attaining their highest level of wellness while continuing to develop their cultural and clinical knowledge. 


As an Independent Contractor, the MCRC - MPC will provide the following services:

  • Support & Brief Intervention: Delivers direct counselling services including intake, wellness assessments, and holistic support planning. This includes providing brief, solution-focused interventions and advocacy for individuals and families.
  • Holistic Counselling: Conducts individual sessions from a trauma-informed perspective, focusing on mental health, addictions, and general wellness.
  • Community Liaison & Advocacy: Promotes and maintains collaborative relationships with community agencies, schools, nursing stations, and integrated health teams to ensure effective case coordination and client advocacy.
  • Psycho-Education & Workshops: Develops and facilitates psycho-educational sessions and community workshops to improve wellness outcomes and provide broader community support.
  • Professional Documentation: Manages all necessary case notes, reports, and client documentation in a confidential and timely manner, ensuring alignment with professional standards.


Contractor Requirements & Qualifications

  • Education: Minimum of a Diploma in Social Service Work (SSW), a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW), or a degree in a related Human Services field from an accredited college or university.
  • Professional Standing: Must be a member in good standing with a relevant professional licensing body (e.g., OCSWSSW, MCSW) and provide proof of independent professional liability insurance
  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience in direct counselling, community development, family support, or group facilitation. Candidates with a mix of practicum and professional experience are encouraged to apply.
  • Clinical Competency: Training in suicide intervention (ASIST) or similar crisis assessment frameworks is preferred. The contractor may participate in initial safety assessments and provide referrals to crisis-specific community resources as needed.
  • Cultural Knowledge: Demonstrated understanding of the impacts of colonization and intergenerational trauma. Experience working with First Nations, Métis, and Inuit communities—specifically regarding mental health, addictions, grief/loss, and family wellness—is highly valued.
  • Program Delivery: Ability to independently develop, facilitate, and evaluate community-based programs and psycho-educational workshops.
  • Communication: Strong proficiency in maintaining confidential documentation and the ability to coordinate services within a complex community network.
