Safe Place to Heal
Maawandooshim
Anokiitan
Gather together, work — a safe place to heal for Indigenous Peoples across Canada. Honouring Indigenous wisdom and healing through culturally grounded, holistic care.
Our Philosophy
Healing spirit first — then mind, body, and community
We are an Indigenous corporation and we promote healing journeys that begin with healing the spirit first. Every team member carries between 15 and 30 years of lived and learned experience, bringing depth and compassion to every healing relationship.
We provide tools that promote the sustainability of global Indigenous healing practices — because an individual, their children, their family, and their community must be able to walk their healing journey together.
We offer holistic, culturally safe care that blends traditional Indigenous knowledge with modern therapies. Through trauma-informed, land-based, and community-focused support, we walk with you toward healing, balance, and cultural reconnection.

Who We Serve
Supporting Indigenous Peoples in every community
Maawandooshim Anokiitan supports the mental health and wellness of Indigenous Peoples — including Métis and First Nations — in both remote and urban communities across Canada through managed health care.
We work in over 32 Ontario urban communities and multiple remote Indigenous communities, with ongoing expansion into Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, British Columbia, and beyond.
The Four Aspects of Well-Being
The four aspects of well being are woven between the individual, child, family and community.
Spiritual
Reconnecting with cultural identity, ceremony, traditional teachings, and the sacred relationship with land and community.
Mental
Addressing cognitive patterns, trauma, mood disorders, addictions, and building psychological resilience and clarity.
Emotional
Developing emotional regulation, processing grief and intergenerational trauma, and building healthy relationship patterns.
Physical
Recognizing how physical health, land-based activity, and somatic experience are inseparable from holistic wellness.
Our Roots
30+ years of global healing
We have been offering global healing for over 30 years. MCRC has presented at major international Indigenous wellness conferences including Healing Our Spirit Worldwide (HOSW), connecting with Indigenous communities from Australia, New Zealand, Squamish, and beyond.
Our work with Tribal Theory Global, Gladue Writing, and Train the Trainer programs reflects our commitment to building Indigenous capacity at every level — individual, community, and systemic.
